Happy Holidays stingers! Wow, I cannot believe Christmas has already passed and New Years is less than a few hours away! This year went by very quickly, and soon we'll be seeing the numbers 2-0-1-3 everywhere. I have been pretty swamped with work and holiday festivities that I haven't had a chance to blog about my recent looks. I literally have about 4 blog entries that need to get published before this week is over. So I decided why not incorporate all looks in one post and title it "B's holiday looks?" How original right?

We like to Party!
at
3:21 PM
A couple of weeks a ago, my sister, her best friend and I hosted our first ever holiday party! It was so much fun to have my close friends and family all together. Not everyone knew each other, so we decided that doing a couple of ice breakers would be a good idea. We played games like "Mingle to Bingo" and "Charades". The winner of each game received a gift card of their choice between Starbucks or Panera Bread. Christmas is definitely my favorite time of the year! There is always great music to enjoy, food and fun times with family.

It's A Celebration Every Time We Link Up!
at
8:46 PM
My good friend Shannon celebrated her 21st birthday at STK on South Beach last night. The girls and I were determined to make this birthday one she'd never forget and I have to say, last night was the most fun I've had in a while! The DJ was on point with his playlist for the night, and so was food. We had originally planned to go to Art Basel afterwards but tickets were sold out and my chances of spotting Jay and Beyonce in person would never become reality.

Little Black Dress (LBD)
at
4:13 PM
As many of you know, October is the month for Breast Cancer Awareness. There are many ways to support this month; giving donations at local markets, participating in the national walks, or purchasing anything affiliated with Breast Cancer. I decided to show my support by attending a fabulous night of fashion for a fabulous cause! The Celebration of life Breast Cancer Awareness fashion show not only celebrated the life of women who survived the disease, but the ticket that was purchased to enter is going toward finding a cure. I had the honor of listening to different women share their stories with such pride and dignity. I kept thinking to myself, wow now that's what you call strong! This is the lovely number I wore last night to the show, take a look!

Solange Embodies The Sapeurs Style.
at
11:24 AM
Recently gaining an interest for black and african art, Solange was inspired by the Sapeurs culture to take a different approach with music videos today. She had a vision for her latest video "Losing you" and it had everything to do with capturing the style of Sapeurs. Solange believes that it goes beyond fashion, it's more of a movement that was created. Your posture has to be a certain way and you have to be dressed in a type of way as well. It's about having grace, edict, and portraying that in every way. The video illustrates just that, a group of rather dapper men walking the streets of Cape Town exposing their nice pair of socks and pastel colored suits.

Outfit Of The Day (OOTD): Daphne
at
12:56 PM
How adorable is this look? A co-worker of mine Daphne wore this stylish outfit to a meeting/coffee chat we had at work today. She was heading to church afterwards. We had a chance to enjoy a quick chat in between our meetings. I was able to get a few questions in about her personal style and what she's dying to wear this fall!

Outfit Of The Day (OOTD): Lorena Rosado
at
7:27 PM
School is back in session for most of us. Back to hitting the snooze button on our alarm clocks for an extra 15 minutes of sleep. We wake up at the last minute only having time to shower, brush our teeth, and throw on a pair of sweats. Granted, sweats are totally comfy for an errand run or attending a few classes, but it doesn't necessarily make a cool uniform. Whether you're attending morning, mid, or night classes let's add a little spunk of personality in our school looks! That was certainly no problem for Lorena who instagramed a photo of her heading to school in this stylish outfit! You may remember her from a post I did a while back that featured a few of my friends. The post, "Friends with Benefits" showcased everyone's personal style. When I caught up with my friend we talked school, work, and oh yeah, fashion! Lorena used one word to describe her style, "Unpredictable!" With fall being right around the corner I had to ask, "what is one thing you're excited to wear this season?" "Scarfs! Lorena responded, I'm aiming for the European look!"
Dress: Cotton on (something similar)
Jacket: American Eagle
Bag: Forever21
Necklace: Franchesca's (something similar)
It's totally casual but cute for a school day. I love the fact that the dress is all black but she added the accents of tan, yellow for a pop of color, and her denim jacket. The key piece in this look is the black maxi dress. She can style it in many ways!

Style Icon: Solange Knowles
at
6:37 PM
Who would of thought Solange Knowles, sister to Beyonce Knowles would be the style icon she is today? The 26 year old singer/DJ is definitely taking the fashion world by storm. She is now the face of two beauty brands Rimmel London and Carol's Daughter. Although they are both great achievements, Solange's big modeling break was when she was announced the face of Madewell's 2012 fall campaign!
Here is a brief preview of her fall campaign shoot.
“Solange’s great style mix-matched perfectly with Madewell's aesthetic ” the company said of the partnership in a press release.
The quality is great when it comes to Madewell, you can find quite a few great buys. The brand is affiliated with J.Crew which I absolutely love! The focus of the campaign is on fun fall pieces; blazers, jeans, tops, and how customers with different styles can create their own original looks.
You go girl. Check out Solange in her Madewell shoot.
If there had to be one celebrity's personal style I am admiring at the moment, it would have to be Solange. She is beyond flawless. I love how she plays with her style while gravitating toward prints and color. She enjoys wearing prints on prints which many people cannot pull off very well. Solange turns to people like her mother Tina Knowles and Diana Ross for inspiration. When asked to describe her style in three simple words Solange's response was, "I. Can't. Describe." Well I can describe it in one, effortless.
Sorry for the amount of photos, it was so hard to pick only a few of my favorite! What's your favorite Solange look? Hope everyone enjoys their Labor Day! Xo!

Talk Tuesday: Q&A With Delightfully Tacky!
at
6:26 PM
Hey stingers! This past week I had the opportunity to interview the talented Elizabeth, creator of the blog "Delightfully Tacky." Her purpose for starting the blog was to share her personal style, creations, and other lovely things. Elizabeth's story on her personal journey is like no other. Full of life and inspiration, this Alaskan girl at heart is super sweet with a noteworthy style that has a way of winning you over. She is also an amazing artist and photographer. Check out the interview below.
Q: So, why the name "Delightfully Tacky?"
A: "Delightfully Tacky, as always" was a phrase I doodled about a year before I started my blog, and when I went to start it, "Delightfully Tacky" seemed like the perfect description of my taste and style.
A: Maiedaie, The Clothes Horse, Making Nice in the Midwest, Skunkboy Creatures, The Friendly Fox, Advanced Style, Orchid Grey, etc etc...
Q: Aww, I enjoy The Clothes Horse too! Her style is different and I definitely think one of the things that set everyone apart is their own personal style, how would you describe yours?
A: Vintage inspired, with influences from pin up culture, the 70's, street style, and other style bloggers.
Q:Love Vintage! You definitely have your own original look, where does your inspiration come from?
A: Lots of places. Most frequently I'm inspired by other bloggers. I like seeing bloggers interpret vintage styles and how they infuse modern looks into their outfits. I really like layering, and I think I'm probably pretty inspired by the seasons.
Q:What are some of your favorite stores to shop at?
A: I like thrifting and shopping at vintage stores, as well as online shops like Modcloth and Ruche.
Q: This year's summer was a great season for trends, name your top three essentials that you feel can transition into fall?
A: I'm pretty oblivious to trends. I'm excited to wear boots, scarves, and blazers as fall approaches, though!
Q: What is some advice you would like to share with other aspiring fashion bloggers?
A: Take great photos, be yourself and never compromise your integrity for anyone, and don't get sucked into the rat race.
I want to personally thank Elizabeth for allowing me to feature her on The B Stinger!
Be sure to check out her blog Delightfully Tacky! How did you guys enjoy the Q&A session? Do you guys want to see more features on the B stinger and if so about what? Leave a comment giving your feedback, I would love to hear from you!
