Kelly Rowland; From Grammy Award Winning Artist To Style Icon

Everyone who knows me personally knows how [[OBSESSED]] I am with Kelly! She has really evolved as a singer, women etc. I've always been a fan of Kelly even in her early days. I'm definitely glad that she is finally coming into her own and getting the credit she deserves overall. 2011 was definitely Kelly's year!

Yeah Kelly is my motivation all right, motivation
to get back in the gym!

Might I add she is rocking the short cut..!

Love, LOVE this look..

One thing I can say about Kelly's style is that she is really big on shoes that make statements. She definitely wants her shoes to be noticed! Now that she has our attention she tends to keep it by accessorizing with the right pieces whether it's with a bulky necklace or a belt cinched at the waist. Where ever Kelly is going we know one thing is for sure, she is walking out the door in complete style!

Back to the Basics: Ballet Flats

If someone were to ask me what is something I cannot live without within fashion it would definitely be a battle between my blazers and ballet flats! But I would have to say my flats would over rule because its    an essential that goes with everything and will NEVER go out of style..

They are just so cute to pair up for a casual look, a pair of jeans and a t-shirt or dress it up with a chiffon top and flirty skirt!

Audrey Hepburn was a big influence on fashion and still is to many fashion designers today. She was known for her signature look which included ballet flats, that explains why some may say that when wearing flats they are trying to do the "Audrey Hepburn" look.

Even divas like Beyonce and Victoria take a break from their 6" heels and go for a more settle look!
So what are you waiting for?? Go get yourself a pair girl!

Fall Fashion For Back To School

Yes! Girls it's my favorite time of the year....Fall!! It's definitely not because of the weather. Fall fashion is the best,  What's great about this season is that many of the things you wore for the summer you can recycle and use! And since we are just getting back into school these few pics and tips will definitely have you looking above average!!
The maxi dress is definitely a summer look we can bring into the fall,
just throw on a cutoff denim jacket and your good to go!
Pair up a colored maxi skirt with a striped tank

For a more polished look you can do a pair of hammer pants with a light boho top
and flats

Cheetah is back this season, you can pair it up with a boyfriend button-up
and cute flats

Wedges are very comfortable especially if your classes are not near one another

Your School is the fashion show, the hallways are your runway. So experiment
with fashion and have fun!

My back to school fall look (:

I paired up a simple button top, green pants and tan boots for my fall look
what do you guys think of my jockey look?

Flappers age : 1920's

So I've decided to take a deeper look into fashion and see when it all began.. I have always been the one to say I was so born in the wrong era! Maybe I would have fit in more in the 1960's known as "mod fashion" or the 1940's when it was all about vintage wear. Either way there is no doubt fashion was more than just clothes to women, it became a lifestlye...

1920's fashion was brought to my attention when I recently took up a jazz dance class. I was obsessed with Fosse and other fun dance crazes such as the charleston and shimmy. While studying this form of dance I couldn't help but notice the sense of fashion in the 1920's it was so elegant and ladylike. Clothing was worn rather loose, no bosom or waistline was shown and your hair would be nearly covered under a cloche hat.

One of my favorite eras to look for fashion inspiration is the 1920's, it's filled with glitter and sass! Women were jumping out and taking a chance with style that would change the way we looked at fashion forever!

It may be a little difficult to incorporate the 1920's look into your wardrobe so here are 3 helpful tips into making it happen!

         1. Pearls - Now this is a definite must, it's just the finishing touch to complete the look! Now since the dresses were usually rather simple women accessorized to the T! If your looking to purchase pearls however I would recommend forever 21, or Charlotte Russe. That's where I bought mine and they are super cheap!

       2. Elegant hairpiece - Whether it has feathers, sparkling stones or just a simple hat adding a hair piece to your outfit is definitely fitting to the 1920's look. You can wear it with pinned up look or finger waves.

 3. Sequins - Us ladies know how much we looove sparkling shiny things...and no I'm not talking about a diamond ring!! Sequins played such a big role in the 1920's fashion era. It can add a lot of "umph" to your outfit. Whether it's in your handbag, dress, or even shoes! Just make sure not to go crazy and do all three!!

Notice how a majority of women in the 1920's wore
their hair rather short, it gave them such a sophisticated look, I recently cut all my hair off and and now I can't wait to play around with different hairpieces!
