wrap me up.

The best thing to get wrapped up in this holiday is a wrap skirt. I purchased this particular one from Loft. I'm in love with the colors of the skirt I just couldn't pass it up. It's currently on sale for $54.99 with an additional 40% off! I also recently made a purchase for another wrap skirt which I'll be sharing on the blog soon. Wrap skirts come in different prints, lengths, and fabrics. I really want to invest in a midi length one. They fit very well and give you an hour glass shape. A mustard turtleneck seemed ideal to pair with this skirt because of the burgundy and orange hues. I thought it brought out the skirt more. I finished the look off with my black booties. How are you guys liking my look? Feel free to comment below. Thanks for stopping by!

9 to 5 chic.

Like my mother always says, "You can never have too many dresses!" Hmm, I think that rule can pass for trenches too. When I first laid eyes on a sleeveless black trench from Ann Taylor a couple of seasons ago it was love at first sight. To my luck, they sold out of my size and I was left devastated. That was until I was able to land my hands on this replica from Banana a few months later. It's amazing how similar the two are. I almost can't tell a difference except for minor details. I'm actually happy I waited, I ended up paying less for this one. So you see, good things come to those who wait! Ha!
I've been wanting a trench for some time now. It's the perfect classic touch. Its like that dress you pick out of the back of your closet when you have nothing to wear and just want to look as if you threw something on. Its that effortless chic dress that will have you ready to go from day to night by the change of a pair of shoes. Trench dresses can also be a great layering piece over your favorite pair of denim or even a really nice pencil skirt. Thank you guys for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your week!

fall lookbook.

This is a project that I have been working on for the past couple of months and I am excited to finally be able to share it with you all! For every season, there are definitely key pieces that play a major role in creating ones look.
Below, I have put together my very own lookbook for fall with 4 stapled pieces I believe will help you get through the season looking as fabulous than ever!
Leather is a must have for fall and this green leather skirt from Ann Taylor is no exception. I know what you're thinking, "a leather green skirt, who on earth would put that on?!" To answer your question, you would! Often times people tend to stay away from pieces that they're not sure how to incorporate in their wardrobe. What if I told you it was possible to create looks with what you already owned in your closet? You probably wouldn't believe me but it's true. Let's start with how I styled my look. I went with a baby blue wrap blouse to color block. My nude sandal heels gave my look balance. This skirt can also be paired with a white button down, black turtle neck, or even a burgundy blouse.
One trend I'm so glad made a come back are midi skirts. The length is just so classic and I'm obsessed with any color or style. I purchased this one from Loft but you're able to get your hands on one practically anywhere. I love midi skirts because you can dress them up or down. With this midi, I paired it with a cream silk tank and a green cropped biker styled jacket. My tan platform heels added the perfect touch to my fall inspired look.
A LBD (Little black dress) is something every woman should have in their closet. It's like the number one rule of feminism. Ha! No but seriously, the perfect LBD can save you from ever really thinking you have to go purchase a dress for every event. It doesn't matter the time of the year or era, LBD's are here to stay. So, you might as well jump on the band wagon. I decided to layer this quilted plaid flippy dress with a white button down underneath and paired it with black booties. I love LBD's for that reason, it leaves room to jazz it up and wear it different ways.
I'm a sucker for a great pair of trousers and even more of one for printed ones. The right pair can flatter your shape very well as well as highlight your curves. I love shopping for pants at places such as; Zara, H&M, Banana Republic and Express. They normally sell different styles for different body shapes so its caters to all body types. I wore my pants with a rusty orange sweater to bring out the orange hues in the print. Adding the nude pumps gave it a classic finish. These trousers are impeccably tailored for a polished finish. This regal foulard print takes this classic pencil style into eye-catching territory.
What's your favorite piece for the fall you feel you can't live without? Feel free to leave a comment I would love to hear from you. Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog!

the colors of fall.

As the seasons change, so does my wardrobe. However, most of the time my location won't permit. I live in South Florida where its hot 350 days out of the year. Like this is not a joke you guys. Even if we get a cold front it's only in town for the weekend and by noon when you head out for lunch the sun is brighter than ever and the cool breeze is only a memory. So since I can't wear coats, scarves, and cute little ponchos, I'll at least try and play up the colors of the season. Fall is all about dark and earthy tone shades. I wore this adorable gray crop top I purchased from Topshop and paired it with a Loft fit and flare burgundy skirt. To give it more of a fall feel, I threw on some sheer tights and a black pair of booties. How are you guys liking my look? How are you able to dress for the season where you live? Please share, I would love to hear about it!

when in doubt, jog it out.

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say joggers are a must-have. Whether you're a guy or girl, joggers are a great pair of pants to own. They're so comfortable and easy. Although I'm a "get dolled up" kind of gal, I sometimes do appreciate those easy pieces to work with in my closet without looking too dressed down. (Look out for a post about that soon) Today I paired my joggers with a gray sweat shirt, and my vince camuto sandal heels. I also added a statement piece around my neck to elevate the look. How are all of you liking my look? Feel free to comment below I will love to hear from you!

Today's Fall OOTD is none other than my gorgeous friend Amanda. She's heading to work today in a gray relaxed t-shirt and a pair of mid wash skinny ankle jeans. To elevate her look, she threw on a camel colored blazer along with some laced up booties. I'm also loving her black oversized tote! Her blazer plays as a perfect transition piece. If she decides to grab a bite after work or get drinks with friends she can remove the blazer. She's definitely on trend for the fall! How are you guys liking Amanda's look?

Hey stingers! Happy fall! It's officially the first day of fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm actually working on a very special project and can't wait to share it with you guys, so stay tuned! It's been a while since I've recreated a look. I decided that my next celeb look-a-like would be a Kardashion. So I went with Kendall Jenner. As of late, I've been really loving her style. This look in particular has to be one of my faves. It's so classic and the color combo is unexpected. To recreate this look, for starters I made sure I had the main ingredients. Camel blazer? Check. Sky blue trousers? Check. Everything else outside of that I could improvise. I didn't go with such a croppy top, this one from Zara gave just enough mid drift exposure for my liking. I also decided to go with wide leg trousers versus a skinny leg and open toe sandals versus a pointy pump. I've said it before and I'll say it again when recreating a look its not about getting it right on the mark, it's about taking that look and making it your own. I added my own little jazz to it and you can do the same. Kendall's white crop top is $99 alone. My whole look was under $100! Now that's how you shop. You know what I always say, you don't have to pay full price for fabulous! Ha!

le midi.

Am I the only one obsessed with midi length skirts for fall? I literally buy everyone in sight. This particular skirt is my latest purchase added to my slowly growing collection. Ann Taylor's belted twill midi comes in two colors; black and luxury. I preferred the luxury color because I know I will be able to work with more in my wardrobe. Plus I have a few black skirts so I'd rather go with a color I don't already own. This calf-length midi is definitely an ideal transitional piece for the season.

the flare is back.

Hold up, I'm confused. Just when I was about to throw out all the pair of flare bottoms I own the news broke out. Like I can't with this bipolar fashion forecast y'all. Now for a little history, I bought these pair of jeans about 4 years ago. I wore them to the ground and just when I thought they ran their course I flipped open a September issue of Instyle and there they were. Flare jeans being seen on every stylish celeb you can think of. Hey, I'm just glad I didn't get rid of them like I had planned on doing. This is why I'm so big on staying true to your own personal style. It's nice to follow trends, but they come and go. True style is eternal.
